Nepal – Year 10
Year 10 Service Learning Trip to Nepal
Round Square Outcomes: Internationalism, Service and Adventure
Get ready for an unforgettable journey that combines meaningful service, cultural immersion, and breathtaking adventure! Oxley College’s Service-Learning vision encourages students to support and connect with communities on a local, national, and international level. One of the most profound opportunities in this program is the trip to Jhib Jhibe, Nepal.
Program Highlights:
- Meaningful Community Service: Students will spend time working alongside locals in the high school and primary school of Jhib Jhibe, contributing to the community in a hands-on and impactful way.
- Cultural Immersion: This isn’t just a “fly in, fly out” trip. Prior to departure, students will study the region and its people, arriving well-prepared to connect deeply with the community.
- Trek Through the Himalayas: Experience an awe-inspiring trek through the Himalayan foothills, surrounded by some of the world’s tallest peaks. Along the way, students will build relationships with the Nepalese trek team and their hosts in Jhib Jhibe, gaining insight into life in this extraordinary landscape.
Nestled 50 km north of Kathmandu, Jhib Jhibe offers students a chance to grow personally while making a lasting impact in a remote and beautiful corner of the world.
