Mother’s Day Mass and Breakfast

Mother’s Day Mass and Breakfast

It was lovely to see so many mothers, grandmothers and daughters at the College to celebrate our beautiful Mother’s Day Mass and Breakfast. We were very fortunate to have Father Manuel Santiago from St Mary’s Parish, Concord who celebrated the Eucharist with our families. The Mass highlighted the love and nurture that mothers and mother figures provide. A huge thank you to all who participated in the Mass.

Our Mother’s Day Mass was a beautiful celebration of love, gratitude and community as we gathered together to honour the many women who nurture, guide and care for others each day.

During the Mass, we reflected on the many forms motherhood can take – mothers raising children with love and sacrifice, adoptive and foster mothers, mother figures who care for and support others, mothers awaiting the birth of their children, and those who carry the grief of losing a child. We also remembered with love the mothers who have gone before us to God in Heaven and remain forever in our hearts.

Inspired by the words of Pope Francis, we reflected on the example of Mary, the Mother of God, as a symbol of hope, humility, patience and unconditional love. Mary’s faith and service remind us of the importance of caring for and guiding others with compassion and kindness.

We thank all mothers and mother figures within our Domremy community for the love, strength and hope they bring into the lives of others each day.The celebration was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together in prayer and thanksgiving.

A special thanks to Ms Bermingham and the Year 12 Hospitality students who prepared the delicious breakfast. To Ms Zapulla, Mr Magson and the choir for the wonderful music. Thank you to the staff and students who assisted at the Mass and the breakfast. We also thank Father Manuel Santiago from St Mary’s Parish, Concord who celebrated the Eucharist with our community.
