THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
On Sunday we celebrated the Ascension of Jesus into heaven. The Feast of the Ascension reminds us that Jesus did not leave His disciples behind — He entrusted them with a mission. As He returned to the Father, He gave His followers hope, courage, and the promise that He would always remain with them. The Ascension calls us to lift our eyes beyond fear and uncertainty, and to live with faith, purpose, and trust in God’s presence.
Like the disciples, we are called to continue the work of Jesus in our daily lives through kindness, compassion, justice, and love. Even when life feels challenging or uncertain, the Ascension reminds us that Christ walks beside us and calls us to bring hope to others.
Loving God,
As we celebrate the Ascension of Your Son,
help us to follow Jesus with faith and courage.
May we be people who bring hope, peace, and kindness to those around us.
Guide us to continue the mission of Christ
through our words, actions, and care for others.
When we feel uncertain or afraid,
remind us that Jesus is always with us.
May we lift our hearts towards You and live each day with love and purpose.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Venerable Nano Nagle. Pray for us.
