Year 12 Volunteering Expo 31 August 2026
On Monday 31 August, a group of Year 12 students attended the Volunteering Expo at St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill. The event aimed to inspire young people to consider how they can make a meaningful and lasting impact in their communities beyond graduation. It offered students the chance to explore a wide range of service opportunities, connect with organisations, and reflect on how volunteering can shape their personal growth.
The evening began in the College Chapel with a welcome and brief liturgy, followed by a BBQ shared with students from other schools. A keynote address from Bruno Maurel, Chairman of Tour De Cure, encouraged students to think deeply about purpose, service, and using their strengths to support others.
Students then engaged with more than 20 charitable organisations, asking thoughtful questions and exploring pathways that aligned with their interests and values.
Overall, it was an excellent experience that broadened students’ understanding of service and highlighted the positive impact young people can make within their communities.
Marist Super Connect
Throughout the evening, students took part in a range of interactive activities designed to build connection, confidence, and collaboration with peers from other schools. The atmosphere was energetic and supportive, giving students the chance to share experiences, develop new skills, and strengthen their sense of community.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and enriching evening for all involved.
Social Justice Day
Social Justice Day was a huge success, with students engaging in meaningful activities that encouraged reflection, compassion, and community. The day began with each homeroom writing heartfelt prayer cards for people experiencing homelessness, setting a thoughtful tone for the hours ahead.
