From the Principal

We are proud to announce the opening of The Sisters’ Court, our new all‑purpose sports and activity space. This development represents an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to providing high‑quality facilities that enhance student learning and wellbeing, physical activity and community connection across the College.

Almost 120 years ago, Mother Melanie and the Marist Sisters sailed down the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers and chose this very site as their home. Their courage, faith and vision laid the foundations of MSCW, shaping the values that continue to guide us today. The new court now stands where Marion House once stood – a place where many Sisters lived, worked and served our community. It also sits directly behind the Sisters’ House, creating a meaningful link between our past and our present.

Importantly, as stated in our Marist Compass for Life, all our students are Sisters. The name reflects not only our history, but the living culture of sisterhood that defines MSCW. The Sisters’ Court is a place for every student and sister to gather, be active, connect and belong. It will be used across the College for PDHPE and Sport lessons, House events, Year group activities, and as an active and inclusive space during break times. Its flexible design ensures it can support a wide range of learning, wellbeing and community experiences.

To officially open the court, we will host a staff vs student basketball game on Monday, a celebration that captures the spirit of fun, connection and community that this new space represents. 

Moving forward, we will also organise for some hand ball courts to be painted on the area around the outside of the Sisters’ Court. 

We look forward to seeing this space come to life as our students embrace all it has to offer.

Year 12

Next week will mark a significant milestone for our Year 12 students as they officially graduate from school. We are proud of this cohort who are finishing their final year with grace, determination, and a strong sense of community.

On Wednesday, we will hold our Graduation Ceremony and Mass to honour Year 12’s achievements. It will be wonderful to have parents and families and join us for these special celebrations. 

I ask that our MSCW community keeps Year 12 in their prayers over the coming weeks.

Dear Lord, 

We thank you for the gift of education and the opportunity to learn. As Year 12 continues to prepare for their HSC exams, we ask for your guidance and grace. Please grant them clarity of mind, a calm heart, and the ability to recall the knowledge they have gained. Help them to work to the best of their ability, have confidence in themselves, and to find peace in your presence. 

We ask this in your name.
