On Wednesday 13th October, Year 7 along with 10 Dance, 10 Drama, 10 Photography and 9 Music ventured to Qudos Bank Arena to watch the Sydney Catholic Schools production of ‘School of Rock’ the musical. It is the first time Sydney Catholic Schools has developed such a large scale, arena filled production and we were able to view this musical in all its glory from high up in the bleachers, looking down on all of the action.

For many students this was their first time attending a theatre performance. It is wonderful that we are able to provide students with opportunities to step out of their comfort zones and experience something new. This excursion allowed students to be immersed in an environment which highlighted and exposed them to the wonder of performing arts.

After the show, many students commented on how exciting it was being in such a large space with many other schools, that the large scale production was very impressive and engaging and that they would be interested in participating in something like this in the future.

Overall, it was a wonderful day out for both staff and students.
