Students Shine in Voice Festival
The atmosphere in the Music Auditorium was warm and supportive as over thirty of MLC School’s vocalists took to the stage to showcase everything from classical arias to pop, folk and musical theatre. The best part of the night was the diversity, with students from Year 6 to Year 12 performing music from across four centuries. MLC School Chamber Choir performed two works, one by Australian composer Stephen Leek, the other by indie band Fleet Foxes. It takes a great deal of courage to get up and sing in front of a group. Each of these students should feel very proud.
Big thanks to accompanists Paula Lu and Jasmine Yang, Music teachers, and to MLC School’s brilliant vocal tutors, Maria Timofeeva, Prudence Holloway, Ali Carter and Jonathon Holmes for their expertise and dedication in preparing their students for the concert. Finally, a massive thanks to parents, carers and friends who came along to support the performers!
For those interested in signing up, the Voice Festival runs once per semester. Now’s the time to start brainstorming what you might like to perform in Term 2 next year!
