Water Polo
Congratulations Ashley Clapham (Year 8) student and MLC School Elite Athlete Program (EAP) member, who recently stepped up an age division to represent the UNSW Wests U16A Water Polo Team at the U16 New Zealand National Championships in Christchurch.
Competing against some of New Zealand’s strongest teams, many featuring top-age athletes, Ashley and her teammates faced a challenging tournament. Despite the tough competition, the team demonstrated outstanding determination and resilience, winning five of their eight matches to finish an impressive 5th out of 14 teams overall.
One of the tournament highlights came when Ashley scored the final goal right on the buzzer, providing a memorable finish to the competition.
For Ashley, competing at the U16 level while still in Year 8 is a fantastic achievement and another exciting milestone in her Water Polo development.
