Year 10

Year 10

Learning and Immersion preparation

As Year 10 students complete their academic program and prepare for their Immersion experiences, they have been undertaking personal projects and research in many subjects. These projects allow the girls to explore topics of special interest, engage with their learning and apply the skills they have developed throughout the year.

Week 5: Work experience

Work experience takes place in Week 5 (starting Monday 9 November 2026), and the girls received their final preparation information at our year meeting. During the week, Luminary teachers will check in with your daughter twice to see how she is progressing and managing her placement. If you have any concerns, please contact the Futures and Pathways office: Jo Cilia at jcilia1@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au or Nicole Massara at nmassara@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au. Thank you to Jo Cilia and Nicole Massara for supporting the girls over many months as they prepare for a successful work experience placement. We look forward to hearing about the girls’ experiences when we head off to camp in Week 6 (Monday 16 November 2026). Click here to read the Work Experience article from Futures and Pathways.

Week 6 – Forster camp

Our Forster camp takes place in Week 6, and all details are available on Compass. If your daughter needs to bring medication, please send it in next week, the final week for completing this task. In Luminary this week, the girls organised food, recipes and menus in their cabin groups in preparation for our trip to Woolworths when we arrive in Forster. Each student has $78 to budget for breakfasts, lunch and some dinners. We are looking forward to a great week together.

2027 SRC Representatives

Finally, we have to congratulate our SRC representatives for 2027 – Melisande Pitman, Elizabeth Ravens and Georgina Solly. They will do a great job representing and advocating for Year 11 next year, as the SRC reps in 2026 did for Year 10.
