Year 7

Year 7

Welcome back to all our Year 7 students! I hope everyone had a wonderful break, with plenty of time to relax and enjoy the things they love. I hope the girls return feeling re-energised and ready for their final term of Year 7.

This term, our Luminary focus is Growth. During Luminary time, students will take part in activities centred on resilience and responding positively to change, helping them feel more prepared for the transition to Year 8. Although change can sometimes feel daunting, it also creates valuable opportunities for growth.

A gentle reminder that students must have a hat with them when sitting outside during recess, lunch or outdoor assemblies. A hat is required regardless of the weather or where students choose to sit. Students who forget their hat will receive Accountability points, so I encourage everyone to take responsibility for remembering and following this important school expectation.

As the new term begins, homework and assessments will resume. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of asking teachers for help whenever support is needed. Assessments are a normal part of school life and should be viewed as opportunities to learn, grow and improve over time. In Year 7, there is plenty of time to build skills and confidence, so the most important priorities are a positive attitude and consistent effort. With these in place, progress and results will follow. Steady progress that can be maintained is often more valuable than achieving a goal quickly without being able to sustain it.

Finally, Ms Stolzi’s challenges have, of course, resumed to lift spirits and bring a few extra smiles to the school day. There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing the girls make the most of their time at school. Meaningful learning is most likely to occur when students feel happy, valued and supported.

Wishing all our lovely Year 7 students a wonderful Term 4!
