Year 10

As we move through the middle of Term 3, Year 10 students continue their approach to work together, form friendships and connections and build a strong sense of community. There are many exciting things on the horizon for Year 10, including the DDE Tour to Europe and the History Tour to Germany and Italy, in the next holiday break.

Year 10 students have continued their Peer Support work with Year 7, building positive relationships and helping younger students feel connected and confident in the Senior School. Through small-group activities and conversations, our Year 10 leaders are developing communication, empathy and teamwork while modelling the values of care, inclusion and responsibility. Our image this week is of Year 7 and Year 10 Abbeythorpe with Head of Abbeythorpe House – Jake Morrisey. Next week the girls will be working with Year 7 to discuss: ‘Bullying: No Way’ as part of RUOk? Day.

As assessment commitments increase, students are encouraged to plan ahead, use feedback purposefully and stay as organised as possible. Families can support this by checking upcoming due dates on the assessment calendar, encouraging regular study rather than last-minute preparation, and protecting time for sleep, exercise and restorative activities. Please flag issues early and encourage your daughter to attend Study Hub Plus on Level 3 from Monday to Thursday and the subject clinics held at lunchtime in the Senior Centre.

Please encourage your child to seek help early if they are unsure about a task or are finding their workload difficult to manage. If you have an academic concern, please contact your daughter’s teacher. I am available Monday to Friday for discussions, Teams meetings or meetings on site.

Invitation to High Potential Learning Showcase – Term 3 Event 

Parents and students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are warmly invited to attend.

MLC School is delighted to present its first High Potential Learning Showcase, celebrating the creativity, curiosity and achievements of students from Junior School and Senior School. The event will feature a diverse selection of student work and provide the community with an opportunity to see how learners have extended their thinking, pursued their interests and embraced challenge through High Potential Learning initiatives across the School.
