Year 12 2026 – University Applications: Parent Reminder

As we move towards Term 3, Year 12 students should begin preparing their university applications through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Parents and carers play an important role in supporting students through this process by helping them meet key deadlines, gather any required documentation and discuss course preferences.

We encourage all families to:

  • Create and submit a UAC application as early as possible.

  • Research university courses and attend Open Days where possible.

  • Explore direct Early Entry programs offered by individual universities.

  • Apply for the Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) if eligible. This free scheme allows participating universities to consider students for early offers based on their Year 11 results and their school’s recommendation.

  • Apply for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) if a student’s educational performance has been significantly affected by circumstances such as illness, disability, financial hardship or family disruption. Eligible students may receive adjustment factors (bonus points) that can improve their selection rank for university admission.

Important 2026 UAC Dates

  • 11 September 2026 Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) applications close 

  • 30 September 2026 Early Bird UAC application deadline (application fees increase after this date)

  • 12 November 2026 SRS offers released.

Please note that many universities also offer their own direct Early Entry programs, with application deadlines typically falling between July and September. These programs require separate applications directly to each university and have different eligibility criteria and closing dates.

Families are encouraged to visit the UAC website and individual university websites regularly to ensure they are aware of all requirements and deadlines. Students who apply early and investigate all available pathways, including SRS, EAS, adjustment factor schemes and direct Early Entry programs, will maximise their opportunities for university admission.
