Beyond the Bell – Careers in Education

Students from Year 12 attended an event hosted by Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) on careers in education. This event was designed to equip students with invaluable insights into the Education sector, covering: Educational study pathways,  Employment opportunities within SCS while students study and Diverse career pathways within Education.

Attendees had the opportunity to hear from a diverse range of speakers, including early career teachers, industry experts, specialist educators, senior leaders, and representatives from universities. 

 

Last week, a few students attended the Sydney Catholic Schools’ Teaching Careers Expo, having the opportunity to speak with teachers, principals, and education leaders who shared honest insights about the profession, from the joy of helping students grow to the challenges and responsibilities that come with shaping young learners. 

 

Hearing from the panel of teachers, principals and university students sharing their experiences gave me a clearer picture of what it is really like to work in education, especially within a community‑focused system like Sydney Catholic Schools that values support, development, and strong school culture. I left feeling inspired, informed, and more confident about pursuing a future in teaching.
