Year 9 SCEGGS and Sydney Grammar Trivia Night
Last term Year 9 had the opportunity to participate in a Trivia Night with Sydney Grammar School. SCEGGS and Grammar students came together to test their knowledge, work as teams and enjoy a memorable night with friends from across the schools. There were 13 mixed gender teams with about 10 students in each allowing us to get to know each other.
The night was full of exciting trivia questions that challenged everyone’s knowledge and encouraged students to work together. There were plenty of laughs, great teamwork and some interesting answers along the way. The variety of questions meant that everyone had the opportunity to contribute something, whether it was knowledge of music, sport, pop culture or general knowledge.
Everyone enjoyed a range of tasty food options throughout the evening, including pizza, fruit salad and Callipo ice blocks. The food was a great addition to the night and helped keep everyone energised and ready for round two of trivia.
One of the highlights of the evening was the no-phone rule. With phones put away, we had the chance to connect with one another and enjoy being fully involved in the trivia without distractions. This encouraged more conversations and funny moments between everyone.

During table discussions there were some debates on the right answers which was fun to hear from everyone about their ideas and opinions. These moments added to the excitement and made the competition even more entertaining, especially when teams were convinced, they had the right answer!
One of the trivia questions asked, involved a make-shift Zara Larsson concert which was performed by the Grammar prefects including the viral Lush Life dance. This was definitely a moment to remember from the night involving lots of laughs and mild second-hand embarrassment on our part. It brought plenty of energy to the room and was a great example of how the night went beyond simply answering questions.
Our trivia night was a fantastic evening filled with fun, laughter, teamwork and friendly competition. A big thank you to everyone who helped organise the event and made the night so enjoyable!
