Around the Grounds

Round 2 of Year 3 Football, IPSHA Basketball, and IPSHA Tennis took place last weekend. Despite no Year 6 teams playing, it was a wonderful morning of Primary sport.

In IPSHA Basketball, the 4A team came up against a very strong Kambala team. It was a physical game and the SCEGGS girls showed grit and determination, but Kambala were just too strong on the day. The 5A team played against Wenona and, despite some exceptional dribbling by Cleo Norman and Ines Allen, Wenona were just too strong. The 4C team had an excellent game at Santa Sabina. It was a fast-paced game and the team had many chances to score but narrowly went down 18-10. What an excellent game it was to watch!

In IPSHA Tennis, our Year 4 girls played against Ascham, who were made up of Year 6 girls. Despite the age gap, our team put up a strong performance through some powerful shot-making by Isabelle Chirakis and accurate serving by Trinity Zheng. The future of Tennis is looking bright for SCEGGS!

In Year 3 Football, SCEGGS White were standout performers, coming away 8-5 winners against Ascham Blue through their teamwork and hard work on the field.

Good luck to all teams for Round 3 this weekend and a reminder to all teams of the second ‘G’ in the Sports Values…..Grit! This means persevering and being resilient, even when you’re not winning.

 

Term 1 2027 Sport

Activity Selection for Term 1 2027 Sport will open at 12:00 pm on Friday 30 October, in Clipboard.

To assist in the planning of all Sport for Term 1, we ask that current parents/carers sit down with students to submit the online form by Sunday 8 November. New families will have until Sunday 15 November to complete selections.

Primary Swimming Carnival

A reminder the Primary Swimming Carnival is taking place  on Wednesday 18 November (Term 4, Week 6). Further information on the day can be found in Week 1 edition of Behind the Green Gate here.

  • Saturday 31 October: Round 3 for IPSHA Basketball, IPSHA Tennis, and Year 3 Football (check Clipboard for locations and times)
  • Thursday 29 October: Years 3-6 IPSHA Gymanstics Championships (selected students only)
  • Wednesday 18 November Primary Swimming Carnival (Years 2-6)
