Saturday Sport Review
A sunny Saturday greeted us for Round 3 of the IPSHA AFL and Touch Football competitions.
Our IPSHA Touch teams enjoyed a positive morning, securing five wins from their seven fixtures. SCEGGS 1 were too strong for St Catherine’s, coming away with an impressive 8–3 victory. Georgina Sharp (Year 6) made some strong runs, while Odette Cavanagh-Downs (Year 6) and Alyssa Kisirwani (Year 6) worked tirelessly through the middle. The team has been working hard on ‘driving’ the ball, focusing on moving it forward and gaining territory across the field.
Ms Thompson came straight from the airport to support the SCEGGS 3 team, and despite her best efforts, they unfortunately could not quite get over the line against Kambala.
SCEGGS 6 continued their unbeaten season with another strong performance, defeating Redlands 9–3. Congratulations to the team on another impressive result.
In IPSHA AFL, the team recorded a convincing win against Barker. Congratulations to the team on securing their first win of the season, and a special shout-out to Poppy Poyntz (Year 6) for scoring her first goal of the season. A fantastic achievement!
Well done to all our students for their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment throughout Round 3. It was wonderful to see their hard work paying off on the field.
