Year 7 Geography

Year 7 Geography students have been finishing their first year of Geography by conducting fieldwork around the College. This gives students the opportunity to investigate the physical and human environment around them, and to participate in the practical application of Geography. Students tested the pH of water and soils around the boat shed and interpreted this data to understand how acidity and alkalinity affect the life forms that grow in those environments. They also tested the temperature of the water, conducted a microplastics survey, and practiced their mathematical skills by drawing the boat shed to scale. Students loved the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surroundings whilst also utilising geographical skills to better understand the relationship between the physical and human world.
