From the Assistant Principal – Mrs Harding

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your continued support of the College. We are continuing to ensure the safety of our staff and students and abide by NSW Health guidelines for schools. As per NSW Health guidelines, the following will has been put into place:

  • Students are expected to wear a mask (compulsory) indoors at school and on public transport
  • It is recommended that students wear a mask outdoors
  • Students are required to physically distance, 1.5m apart where possible and keep desks in single file
  • The canteen will be closed to minimise the mixing of year groups
  • Teachers will keep a class seating plan for contract tracing purposes
  • Teachers will keep doors and windows open to improve ventilation
  • If a student attends sick bay, they are required to wear a mask and sanitise before entering
  • Morning Homeroom will be conducted in House classes to minimise the mixing of year groups
  • The library will be open to Year 11 only during lunch and recess to minimise the mixing of year groups
  • Playgrounds will be in year groups to minimise the mixing. The playgrounds are:
    • Year 7 – Netball Courts
    • Year 8 – the seating and grass area near the Netball Courts
    • Year 9 – bottom end of the Central Courtyard (near Front Foyer)
    • Year 10 – top end of the Central Courtyard (near Chapel)
    • Year 11 – CIEC tennis court
    • CIEC students – CIEC tennis court
  • Students are expected to practice COVID safe hygiene including regularly washing /sanitising hands, not sharing food, no hugging

Uniform

All students are expected to wear the summer uniform with pride and a reminder of the following expectations:

College Blazer and Jumper

  • The blazer is worn in Terms 1 and 4 if the weather is cool
  • The College jumper is an optional garment that may only be worn under the College blazer during Terms 2 and 3
  • The College jumper cannot be worn during Terms 1 and 4
  • The College blazer is always the outer garment to and from school
  • Year 11 students may wear their jacket on Thursdays

Skirt

  • The College skirt is to be covering the knees or below at all times

Eyebrows and Eyelashes

  • Eyebrows and eyelashes are to be kept natural
  • False eyelashes, eyelash extensions or eyebrow tattoos are not permitted

Many parents will be purchasing new school shoes for their daughter prior to the start of 2022. A reminder that College school shoes are required to be hard, black, leather lace up. Ballet or soft leather shoes do not comply with WHS requirements.

End of Term 4, Awards Assembly, 1pm Finish 10 December

Final day of classes for Years 7-11 will be on Friday 10 December followed by Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews on Monday 13 December.

Staff Professional Development Days will be held from Tuesday 14 December. Supervision of students is available until Wednesday 15 December. Please contact the College if supervision is required.

Due to NSW Health restrictions of visitors coming onsite, the College will celebrate the End of Year Award Assembly with each year group only. Details are as follows:

Wednesday 8 December

  • Period 1 – Year 7 Awards Assembly
  • Period 3  – Year 8 Awards Assembly
  • Period 5 – Year 9 Awards Assembly

Friday 10 December

  • Period 3  – Year 10 Awards Assembly
  • Period 4 – Year 11 Awards Assembly

On Friday 10 December, Years 7-11 students will undertake lessons, celebrate a Christmas Liturgy and farewell our outgoing staff on this day. The day will conclude at 1pm. Students will be dismissed at 1pm. Unfortunately we could not arrange buses for 1pm, however, they will arrive at the normal time of 3.15pm and there will be supervision for students between 1pm and the arrival of buses.

 

Term Dates 2022

Planning is well underway for many activities and events for 2022. I would like to remind families that if you are considering taking extended leave next year it is best that this is confined to holiday periods as much as possible.  Also, if you are considering taking leave that an application for leave form must be completed and signed by the College Principal.  These forms are to be completed well in advance and are available from the Student Services.
