From the Assistant Principal – Mrs Christine Harding

Term 2 has progressed very quickly and our students have been working well in the classroom and focused on their learning.

HSC Holiday Masterclasses

I am constantly inspired by the time and effort teachers put into ensuring that our girls are learning and given many opportunities to achieve HSC success.  The dedicated staff at the College are committed to offering our senior students every opportunity to succeed. Year 12 students are offered holiday classes for revision over the upcoming holiday period. Please encourage your daughter to take advantage of this great opportunity.

IMC (library) Extended hours for HSC Trial preparation

Prior to our upcoming Trial HSC Examinations we invite our Year 12 students to attend a series of twilight study preparation evenings in the Irene McCormack Centre between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.  The ‘IMC After Hours – Twilight Study’ program will provide students with access to the library resources and facilities, as well as some teacher support, in preparation for the examinations. Dates are:

  • Monday 18/7/22 from 3.30 to 6.30pm
  • Wednesday 20/7/22 from 3.30 to 6.30pm

Winter Uniform Reminder

We commend our many students who wear their uniforms correctly with pride every day. I would like to take this opportunity to remind our community of the College’s expectations in relation to the uniform.

The winter uniform expectations are:

  • All students must wear the College Blazer to and from school. The blazer is the outer garment.
  • Any clothing worn under the College shirt must not be seen.  All undergarments should be neutral in colour.
  • The College Jumper is not part of the Sports Uniform.
  • Due to WHS requirements, hair needs to be tied up.
  • College skirt is to be worn at the knee (not rolled at the waist).

Mobile Phone Policy Reminder

I would like to take this opportunity to remind our community of the College’s expectations in relation to student use of mobile phones at school.

The purpose of the Mobile Phone Policy is to ensure the safety of students, promote appropriate and safe use of mobile phones within College grounds, and encourage interaction and communication without distractions.

Below are the key elements of the policy:

  • All mobile phones are to be out of sight (stored in the student’s locker), switched off or on silent (not vibrate) as soon as the student enters the College front doors of a morning.
  • Mobile phones can only be used on College grounds once students have been dismissed out of their classroom by their teacher after the end-of–school-day bell rings.
  • If a mobile phone is sighted on school grounds from the moment the student walks into the College front doors, for any reason, they will have it confiscated immediately by staff.
  • Refusal to give a confiscated phone to a staff member will automatically result in a Thursday Afternoon RAP detention.
  • Continued abuse of this policy may result in further consequences.
  • The school accepts no responsibility for replacing mobile phones that are lost, stolen or damaged whilst on school premises.
  • If students need to contact their parents/carers they are to go to Student Services and request to use a phone.
  • If parents/carers need to contact their daughters they can call the College reception on 9725-4322 and a message will be passed on to their daughter.

We appreciate the support of parents in having their daughter’s adhere to this policy and ask that you please do not text or call your daughter throughout the day.

Thank you for your continued support of the College,

Mrs Christine Harding
