From the Head of Junior School

We have been blessed with lovely autumn weather for our ANZAC Day ceremony this week, along with our 140th Anniversary Back to College celebrations held today. Thank you to our Year 5 parents and carers who attended the Year 5 grade assembly this week.
The significance of a female role model
Mothers and mother figures, whether they are mums, grandmothers, aunties, or other caring women in a girl’s life, have a profound influence on primary school-aged girls. From the earliest years, their love and guidance form the foundation of a girl’s confidence and emotional security, helping her feel safe, supported and loved.
As Mother’s Day approaches, it’s the perfect time to acknowledge the many ways these women enrich the lives of our girls. As a school for girls, I am very mindful of the powerful example that mothers and other women provide for our young students. I see this daily: a mum’s encouraging smile at a school assembly; a grandmother’s gentle reassurance at drop-off; or one of our exemplary female staff members offering support when a girl is in need. This steady presence helps our students grow in confidence and develop a strong sense of self, sparking a passion for learning. On Mother’s Day, we thank all the mums, grandmothers, aunties and others who take on a mothering role and are constant champions in our girls’ lives.
