Year 11

Year 11

This week has been a particularly special one for our Year 11 students. A large number of students took part in the Sony Foundation Camp interviews, and the feedback from staff involved has been overwhelmingly positive. It was a privilege to hear students speak so thoughtfully about their reasons for wanting to volunteer, their genuine excitement about the opportunity, and their willingness to be involved. The experience was truly heartwarming and a wonderful reflection of the compassion and generosity within this cohort.

During Luminary time this week, students continued their exploration of future career pathways. After listening to three MLC School Old Girls share their career journeys, Year 11 students have been reflecting on their own interests and aspirations. These conversations have prompted thoughtful discussion and encouraged students to consider a range of possible pathways beyond school.

Over the course of this term, students will continue to hear from Old Girls working across a variety of fields and engage in structured activities designed to support informed decision‑making about future directions. This learning will culminate later in the term with an excursion to the Careers Expo, providing students with further opportunities to explore options and ask questions as they begin to shape their plans for the years ahead.
