From the VIC/TAS President

As we pass the halfway point of the year, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on what has been a successful and energising first six months for the VIC/TAS Chapter. 

I’m incredibly proud of the momentum we’ve built and, in particular, the enthusiasm, generosity and commitment of our Chapter Committee and members. Together, we’ve delivered a strong program of professional development, networking and connection, with plenty more to look forward to in the second half of the year. 

A major highlight has been the introduction of our VIC and Tasmania Learning Exchanges, creating new opportunities for professional development outside of our traditional Summit years. (For a recap, and photos, see later in this eNewsletter). 

Looking Ahead 

While we know the second half of the year brings busy calendars across our schools, we are continuing to focus on creating opportunities that are relevant, practical and worthwhile for our members. 

We are particularly looking forward to our upcoming events, including the International Conference and Chapter Soirée and our end-of-year AGM and networking event. 

Save the Date – VIC/TAS Summit 2027

Planning is also already underway for 2027, including our next VIC/TAS Chapter Summit which will be held on 8 & 9 July, 2027. I’m pleased to share that we have secured the Catholic Leadership Centre as our venue, providing us with a strong foundation as we begin shaping the program. 

Join Our Committee!

We will also soon begin confirming our 2027 Chapter Committee and identifying opportunities for members to get involved. If you have been thinking about contributing to the Chapter, presenting at an event or joining the Committee, I would encourage you to put your hand up. Our Chapter is only as strong as the people who contribute to it.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has participated in a Chapter event, welcomed a new member, shared an idea, volunteered your time or simply connected with a colleague through our network. 

It is the generosity and engagement of our members that makes the VIC/TAS Chapter such a vibrant and supportive community. I look forward to seeing many of you at an upcoming Educate Plus event and continuing to build on the momentum we’ve created together.
