SCS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student Graduation Assembly

Ms Awad and I attended this event which celebrated the achievements of 81 students across the Sydney Archdiocese who will complete Year 12 in 2026. The outstanding guest speaker was ex-student Jasmine Lattouf (St Ursula’s 2024), who lifted the spirits of every graduate with her encouraging advice to take all opportunities that come their way and never miss an opportunity to be the person in the room who is willing to represent. Her own burgeoning career as an undergraduate engineer provided great evidence of what can be accomplished with a positive mindset and enthusiastic work ethic.

St Ursula’s is extremely proud of Maya Robinson (Barkindji) and Isabella Muc (Wiradjuri) who have both shown great commitment to their studies and the school Serviam motto while representing their Indigenous cultures with pride. Maya was keynote speaker at the 2025 St Ursula’s Reconciliation assembly where she outlined the way her relatives fought as gallant soldiers in both WW1 and WW2 and thrived through the generational trauma of forced removal to Brewarrina Mission. Her call to accept the truth of Australia’s past and to move forward together as a nation was inspirational. Isabella was awarded 2026 First Nations Sportsperson of the Year for her achievements across NSW, CCC and SCC Athletics in Cross Country and Steeplechase. Both students are outstanding role models who have made an amazing impact on our St Ursula’s community. We can’t wait to see what they achieve in the future!
