From the Gili Rooms

From the Gili Rooms

The Gili Rooms are the office and common area for our Indigenous students and Ms Jola Cumming, our new Aboriginal Students Coordinator, Ms Sarah Kearney (co-chair of our Reconciliation Action Plan Committee) and other staff working on Reconciliation. Referencing the school motto, Gili means shine, which is what we want for all students at SCEGGS! The Gili Rooms are a safe space where culture, identity and support for the students are fostered. As we embrace 2020, we want to introduce our new section to Behind the Green Gate that allows us to share with you all the up-coming deadly (this means awesome) events!!!

Have you checked out The Australian Dream? If not, it is a must. However, we cannot express this enough; watch The Final Quarter. Swans fan or not this is an emotional film that exposes various aspects of Adam Goodes’ AFL career and invites all Australians to reflect and who we are as a nation.

You can view the Australian Dream here and here.
