The Centre for Ethics was established in 2024 with the aim of delivering an ambitious program of events for students and the wider Southern Highlands community. We host distinguished thinkers and leaders from diverse fields – philanthropy, academia, NGOs, and industry – creating opportunities for dialogue that challenge assumptions and inspire action has never been more urgent. Accelerating climate change, the rise of artificial intelligence, renewed nuclear tensions, democratic fragility, and growing distrust of science are among the defining challenges of our time – issues that demand thoughtful, principled responses.

Indira’s talents don’t stop there – she’s a fierce champion for environmental and food sustainability, has designed award-winning gardens, lends a hand to community groups in cultivating their own green spaces and has written a book on growing produce in small spaces, The Edible Balcony.

She’s a dedicated ambassador for Sydney’s Wayside Chapel, helping in tackling the city’s homeless crisis head-on.

An Evening with Anna Funder
