The 2026 Australian Swimming Trials

Huge congratulations to Anna Munzarova, Emma Ward and Maya Ostapenko on finishing the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials. They went head to head with the best open swimmers in Australia, racing for spots on the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacs teams, an incredible achievement on its own.

Competing at this level means meeting national qualifying standards and performing under real pressure and both athletes proved they belong in that arena.

SCS/NSW CCC Cross Country 
A huge congratulations to the dedicated MSCW students who proudly represented Sydney Catholic Schools at the NSW CCC Cross Country Championships at the Sydney Equestrian Centre.
 
These talented athletes competed against the strongest female runners in the Catholic system, delivering impressive performances across all age groups.

  • Madeleine Cheng (18 Years) – 32nd

Sydney Table Tennis
The Sydney Catholic Schools Table Tennis Championships lit up the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls, highlighting the exceptional skill and dedication of athletes across SCS.
 
Competition was intense, with teams pushing hard for every point and every place on the leaderboard.
 
In a standout performance, MSCW’s Junior duo, Lizzie Lazo and Ao Huyen Tran secured an impressive 4th place overall.
A remarkable result against some of the strongest table tennis players in the SCS network.
 
 

Sydney Football & Netball Winter Quarter Finals
A huge shout out to our Football and Netball representative teams for their outstanding efforts at the Sydney Quarter Finals.
 
Results
  • Junior Football: 2–0
  • Intermediate Football: 10–0
  • Senior Football: Runners up 0–0 (5–4 in the penalty shootout)
  • Junior Netball: 20–31
  • Intermediate Netball: 36–39

All three Football teams will now advance to the Sydney Semi Finals in Term 3, Week 1.

Sydney Rugby League Gala Day
Congratulations to our 14 Years and 16 Years MSCW Rugby League teams for their outstanding performances at the Sydney Catholic Schools Rugby League Gala Day. The skill level, determination and pride shown by our students was exceptional and the entire event highlighted the strength and growth of Rugby League at MSCW.
 
Over 140 students competed throughout the day, showcasing impressive rugby league skills.  MSCW demonstrated strong defence, smart ball movement, fearless carries and teamwork.
 
We were honoured to welcome Sydney Roosters NRLW players Taina Naividi and Taneisha Gray, who joined us to present medals and support the students. They stayed for almost the entire day, genuinely inspired by the talent, toughness, and spirit shown by every MSCW athlete. Both players shared that opportunities like this simply didn’t exist when they were at school, and they were blown away by the pathways MSCW provides for its students.
 
A special congratulations to the 16 Years team for being crowned Champions.

NSW All Schools Rugby Union 7’s
Huge congratulations to Erin Krenmayr (Year 10) and Niamh Krenmayr (Year 12), who both earned selection for NSW All Schools Rugby Sevens, competing at the Buildcorp Australian Schools; Junior Rugby Union Championships on the Sunshine Coast during the school holidays.
A special congratulations to Niamh, who was also named in the All Schools U18 Merit team which is a squad made up of the best players in her age group across the entire tournament. This national championship is one of the biggest youth rugby events in Australia, bringing together more than 50 representative teams from every state and territory. Hosted at Sunshine Coast Stadium and the Kawana Sports Precinct, it’s recognised as the premier pathway for emerging rugby talent and a true proving ground for future Wallaroos.

SCS GymNastics

Huge congratulations to the MSCW Gymnastics Team for their fantastic performance at the Sydney Catholic Schools Gymnastics Championship, held at the Aquatic Centre in Rooty Hill.

The event brought together some truly talented students from across SCS, with competitions in floor, bars, vault and beam. MSCW athletes gave it their all and shone bright throughout the day.

Level 3  

Valentina Pace led the way with a brilliant 32.2, supported by strong performances from Alina Hantu, Sage Melgar and Bella Pirrello.

Level 4

Sienna Yam delivered consistent results across vault, bars and floor, finishing on 25.6, with solid contributions from Sierra Mant.

Level 5  

A standout performance from Sabrina Elshahat, scoring 31.85 and a superb 8.65 on beam. Zoe Bird showed determination with her beam routine.

Level 6 

Sarah Reynolds lit up the floor with an outstanding 9.175, one of the highest MSW scores of the day.

Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships
Congratulations to Kendall Kilby (Year 9) who proudly represented NSW CCC at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships, held at Coffs Harbour International Stadium, from 4–11 July 2026. Playing in the key role of halfback, she absolutely lit up the championships, showcasing elite rugby league skills including sharp game management, classy ball distribution, a dangerous running game and fearless defence.
 
This is an incredible achievement for a Year 9 student on the national stage and with performances like this, Kendall is a future NRLW star in the making. She is the type of talent you will be watching live on Channel 9 and Fox Sports in years to come.

MSCW Junior and Senior Football
Congratulations to our MSCW Junior and Senior Football teams on an incredible season. Both squads qualified for the Sydney Championships and battled their way into the final, an outstanding achievement against the strongest Catholic schools in SCS. Although the final did not go our way, finishing as the last two teams standing is something to be extremely proud of. Amazing effort from all players and coaches!
