Year 8

It has been fantastic to see Year 8 students embracing hat wearing at recess and lunchtime. Accountability Points for missing hats did start this week, so please remind and encourage your daughter to bring and wear hers each day. Hat rule reminders:

– In Term 4, students are to wear any hat (with a sun shade brim) at recess and lunchtime. Santa hats and Chefs hats are not sun safe or do not have a brim.

– From Term 1 2027, students must wear either the navy MLC School cap or bucket hat so please use this term to purchase those items if required.

– Hats must be on at recess and lunch for all students outside, even if they are seated in the shade. Hats must also be worn, and not just carried around.

There is also a lot of excitement this week with the Middle Years Leaders nominations closing, and Year 8 nominees presenting their speeches to their Houses on Friday. All of the students who have put themselves forward are wonderful candidates and I am very pleased they have shown such courage to apply.

Expression of Interest: Kindergarten to Year 12 Learning Enhancement Parent Focus Group

Parents and carers of students who engage with the Learning Enhancement Department for Academic Learning Support and High Potential Learning are warmly invited to participate in a Kindergarten–Year 12 Parent Focus Group this term. A session for each will be run in November.

The session will provide an opportunity for families to share their experiences of engaging with Learning Enhancement, including what has been helpful for their daughter and where there may be opportunities to further strengthen our support, communication and partnership with families.

Your perspectives are important to us and will help inform the ongoing development of Learning Enhancement at MLC School.
