Year 8

This week Year 8 celebrates their final Big Sister Little Sister get together, marking the conclusion of a wonderful two years of connection and mentorship. Since Year 7, our now Year 8 students have benefited greatly from the guidance, support and friendship of their Year 12 Big Sisters. From shared activities and conversations to special events and celebrations, these relationships have helped foster a strong sense of belonging within our School community. We thank our Year 12 students for the positive impact they have had on our Year 8 cohort and hope the memories created will be treasured for years to come.
Students are also reminded that SRC nominations are now open. Serving on the Student Representative Council is a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills, represent the voices of peers and contribute positively to school life. We encourage interested students to consider nominating and becoming actively involved in shaping the Year 8 experience. The nomination form is on canvas.
As assessment tasks continue, we would like to remind families about the School’s Illness and Misadventure procedures. If a student is genuinely unwell, they should remain at home and focus on their recovery rather than attending school solely to complete an assessment task. Families should follow the Illness and Misadventure process and provide the required documentation where applicable. Student wellbeing remains our priority, and these procedures exist to ensure fairness for all students.
Looking ahead, excitement is building for next week’s House Athletics Carnival. We encourage all students to get involved, support their House and enjoy a fantastic day of participation and School Spirit.
Have a lovely weekend, and please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
