Reminder – Year 8 Parent Workshop – The Social Compass
4 August 2026
Dear Year 8 Parents/Carers,
As part of our commitment to supporting the wellbeing and personal development of our students and the information shared in a previous letter on Anti-Bullying, we are pleased to inform you that all Year 8 students will participate in The Social Compass – Anti Bullying workshop, presented by Free To Be Resources.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday 11 August during the Period 1 Pastoral Care lesson.
The Social Compass is designed to help young people navigate the social challenges of adolescence by exploring topics such as healthy friendships, respectful relationships, self-worth, communication, and making positive choices. Through engaging and age-appropriate content, students will be encouraged to develop practical strategies for building confi dence and fostering positive connections with others.
To complement the student workshop, Free To Be Resources will also facilitate a parent information session on the same evening. This session will provide parents and carers with an overview of the concepts explored with students and offer practical insights to support ongoing conversations at home.
Date: Tuesday 11 August
Time: 6:00pm – 6:45pm
Venue: College Library
We warmly encourage all parents and carers of Year 8 students to attend this informative session. Can you please complete this form to register your attendance.
Should you have any questions regarding the workshop or parent session, please do not hesitate to contact the College.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting the wellbeing and growth of our young people.
Kind regards,
Ms Linda Codamo
