2026 Winter Matthew Talbot Appeal

During this winter period many young men are in danger of homelessness especially in the area of Sydney. 

To counter homelessness and aid young men in returning from tough times, the Vinnies Team is running an initiative where all grades will chip in to help the Matthew Talbot Hostel with resources needed for the uplifting of young men at risk of homelessness. 

Collections for the Matthew Talbot Appeal will be held from Tuesday 9 June until Friday 26 June (Week 8-10) in homerooms each morning. We are kindly asking for your generosity to bring in an item from the below list that has been requested by the Matthew Talbot Charity.

Year Group	Items to bring in
Year 7	Toothbrushes, Toothpaste OR Disposable tissues
Year 8	Soap/Body Wash OR  Shampoo and Conditioner
Year 9	Deodorants (roll on) OR Socks L or XL
Year 10	Men’s underwear OR Long sleeve fleece jackets
Year 11	Men’s Shavers and Shaving Cream
Year 12	Long sleeve fleece jackets OR Business Shirts (New or Second hand in good condition) Size: L or XL

Homeroom teachers will need to ask students to take all the items each day or bring them directly to the RE Office. All donations will be housed in Cottage 3 for final packing and assembly for collection by Matthew Talbot.
