IMP

IMP

Hello Fortians, the IMP is very much up and running, providing weekly Zoom rehearsals and activities for each ensemble. It has been great to see so many students turning up to engage with music-making each week and on that note we’d like to encourage students to consider the various music auditions that are currently open within Sydney.

The IMP Mid-Year Concert, our biggest fundraiser for the year went ahead on Friday 18th June and gees it was great to finally have a concert after so long (nearly 18 months). We were so lucky we got to have it before latest outbreak took off and can’t wait until it is safe to have another great community event!

It’s always so exciting to perform for an audience of family and friends and it is also a chance to farewell the outgoing Year 12 IMP members. This year, we recorded an audience of over 650 family and friends and over 310 performers and I would like to thank every single person for making it an amazing event. The night proved to be extremely successful with a record fundraising of over $14,000 which will help us recover from COVID and come back even stronger next year. Our move to online ticket sales and cashless event proved very efficient and I would like to thank everyone who kindly donated gifts, food, their time and to all the amazing volunteers we have assisting us with our events.

The food was amazing, the music was fantastic and the community atmosphere really motivates us to strive for bigger and better. Thank you to all our IMP members, their family and guests and once again to the volunteers and the Fort Street community.

Here are some lovely photos of the night.
