The SRC Presents Fort Street Leaders Week

The SRC Presents Fort Street Leaders Week

During the week of 23rd to 27th of August, the Fort Street High School Student Representative Council hosted Fort Street Future Leaders Week, a week designed to educate and inspire students to take on leadership roles. The aim was to inspire students to pursue their passion and harness their intellectual curiosity, providing an opportunity to learn from and interact with leaders from all walks of life who have achieved real and significant change in their communities and fields of work.

The SRC invited all Fort Street High School Students to join us in our conversations with these prominent leaders. Our event involved Year 11 SRC Executive members conducting individual interviews with already established leaders, such as the Hon. Michael Kirby, who is a Fort Street Alumni that has served as the Justice of the High Court and is heavily engaged in international arbitrations, domestic mediations and law. Other special interviewees included: Natalie Lang, NSW and ACT Branch Secretary of the Australian services union, Erin O’Leary, young activist and founding member of the Youth Against Sexual Violence, Chris Gambian, CEO of Nature Conservation Council NSW and the Hon. Tanya Plibersek MP.

Fortians were provided with a forum to submit questions to our guest speakers prior to the event.
