First Lego League Regional Competition

First Lego League Regional Competition

Our UNSW EMU Robotics team participated in the First Lego League Regional Competition, held on the 17th of November at Unity Grammar School. I am pleased to advise that we won the Breakthrough Award and the Robot Performance Award and our team has advanced into Nationals.

The Robot Game is where we test our robot and code to undergo missions on the field. For this section, we came first and we won the Robot Performance Award.

The Project is where we come up with a solution to an existing issue that impacts society. In our case, we decided to tackle the rising rates of obesity and create the Work-A-Gotchi app. We referred to a physiotherapist and also surveyed students to find out what the app needed. This is an app that includes a digital buddy in animal form, a music player, a chat to connect with other users and the opportunity to level up with your Work-A-Gotchi.

Our app model is a work in progress, and we hope to improve it for Nationals.

Our team was also tested on our Core Values, which was good, and Robot Design which we also need to improve on.
