What is your role at Scotch Oakburn College?
I am the Director of Marketing and Admissions

Motto or personal mantra?
Don’t make change for change’s sake!

How has Educate Plus helped you in your career development?
For someone new to the sector, it’s been a great platform to a wealth of experienced individuals who are more than happy to share and bounce ideas off

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My mountain bike – I love hitting the trails. In Tasmania we’ve some of the best mountain bike trails in the world!

Who has had the biggest impact on your career thus far and why?
It’ll sound corny, but my wife. She’s always encouraged me to take opportunities, challenge myself and be that little bit different

Favourite travel spot?
My family and I went to Bali for the first-time last year and it was fantastic, we had a ball. A little closer to home, you can’t go past Byron Bay or Lennox Head

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
In 2000 I travelled Australia (on a budget), whilst in Northern Queensland I needed a few bucks, so I picked strawberries. It was the hardest 3 days work I’ve ever done!

How do you define success?
It’s a good question and not something easily measured… (in a work environment) I’d like to think that my success is measured by those around me, their happiness, job satisfaction and willingness to group together to get the job done

Tell us two things most people don’t know about you…
1) I love Queen (the band that is) – if I could meet anyone, it would be Freddie Mercury
2) With a small group of people, from startup, I helped grow a digital marketing business that took me around the world over a 6 year period
