President’s Message

President’s Message

I’d like to start by welcoming our recent new members to QLD. It is wonderful to see such growth in our Chapter within the schools and tertiary institutions you represent. I invite you to take a moment to visit our new website: educateplus.edu.au which is largely aimed at delivering services and resources to our membership.

Bren Arkinstall, who has served on the Executive this year has taken a position at Caulfield Grammar School in Victoria, as the Head of Development. Unfortunately this means we lose a valuable committee member. Congratulations Bren we wish you every success and thank you for your work with the QLD Executive.

I’m sure if you have communicated with the amazing Sara Ussher you will no doubt know what a perfect fit she has been in the role of QLD Administrator in the last 22 months. Sara has made the difficult decision to finish up with EDPLUS to focus on family whilst her children are moving towards the senior years of schooling. Sara has done a tremendous job and we will be sad to see her go. Sara, we wish you and your family every good thing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your professional, caring and dedicated work for our Chapter.

Thank you to the many delegates who completed the post-conference survey. Your feedback will be extremely valuable for the 2017 Conference Committee. There were some excellent suggestions and overall very positive results which is a credit to the 2015 Conference Committee. We invite your ongoing communication and feedback at any time. You can access many of the session notes and presentations from the conference on the new website.

On behalf of the Executive I wish you a very successful end to the year, and look forward to seeing you at the PD and AGM to be held at Mercy Place, Bardon on 24 November.

Kind regards
Graham Brown, F.Edplus AFAIM
