President’s Message

Tena koutou katoa,

I am delighted to have been elected as your NZ Chapter President for the next two years. We are extremely lucky to have such a wide range of experienced Advancement professionals from across the schools and tertiary sectors who have generously volunteered their time to serve on the incoming Executive Committee. These are all incredibly talented people and I am thrilled to be working alongside them. In particular, congratulations to Emma Zigan as Vice President, Ross Scrymgeour as Secretary and Kirstyn Sandall as Treasurer. I am hoping that I will also have the pleasure of meeting many you (both old and new members) across the country over the next 12 months. 

Educate Plus is a unique organisation that serves the needs of Advancement practitioners across the education sector in New Zealand. Our team is planning to deliver a range of valuable opportunities across the regions for professional development, training, mentoring and networking over the next year and beyond.  The last event for 2022 is a cocktail and networking event in Christchurch on 16^th December.  There is still time to register here. We hope to see some of you there.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a NZ Chapter Summit in 2023. The theme is NEXUS, that space where things connect. We hope in the future to deepen our connections and enhance the practice of Advancement across the country.

Finally thank you to each and every one of you for the invaluable contribution you make to your organisations, alumni and donors. Whether you are working in Admissions, Alumni, Marketing & Communications, Fundraising or you’re a one-person-band doing all of the above, the schools and tertiary institutions thank you for your commitment, passion and enthusiasm to help make a difference.
