Domremy Climbs the Ranks in National Playconomics Competition
The UNSW STEP UP: Playconomics Outreach Program is officially underway, and our Domremy students are already making an impact on the national leaderboard.
This gamified platform transforms rigorous economic theory into an immersive digital environment where students learn by doing. Operating completely at their own pace, students navigate interactive learning modules centred on fundamental microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, such as supply and demand, market dynamics, and risk management. As they build societies from the ground up and face real-world financial challenges, they directly improve their financial literacy and mathematical reasoning.
We are thrilled to announce that several of our students are currently dominating the highly competitive Global Tournament 2 Leaderboard, which concludes in two months. Out of 492 competitors from schools across Australia, our Domremy girls are currently holding the following positions:
- Chloe A (Year 8): 12th place
- Aya M (Year 10): 17th place
- Sabrina O (Year 8): 54th place
- Sandra K (Year 8): 61st place
Because the competition is designed for self-paced progression, there is still time for Domremy students to join the program. The program is completely free and accessible to all, offering a fantastic opportunity to earn a UNSW Digital Badge or even secure UNSW Advanced Placement university credit for future studies.
Students may visit www.playconomics.com and watch the “Playconomics” introductory animation. To register, select “High School Student” and enter our exclusive school code: TRQDR.
We look forward to updating you on our student leaderboard in the next newsletter.
