Reflection – The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)

On Sunday 7 June,  we celebrated the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi. This feast reminds us of the incredible gift Jesus gave to us in the Eucharist. At every Mass, we are invited to gather at the table of the Lord, where Jesus nourishes us with His presence, His love and His peace.

The Eucharist is more than a symbol. It is a reminder that Christ walks with us each day, especially in moments of joy, struggle and uncertainty. As we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we are called to become more like Him – people of compassion, kindness, forgiveness and service to others.

Corpus Christi also reminds us that we are one community in Christ. Just as bread is made from many grains and wine from many grapes, we too are united as one Body through God’s love.

May this feast encourage us to carry Christ’s presence into our homes, classrooms and wider community, bringing hope and light to all those we encounter.

Prayer

Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of the Eucharist,
where we receive the Body and Blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Help us to recognise Your presence in our lives
and to live as people of faith, compassion and love.

May we become a reflection of Christ to others,
showing kindness, forgiveness and generosity each day.

Strengthen our community so that together
we may continue to walk in Your light
and share Your peace with the world.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Venerable Nano Nagle. Pray for us.
