Kids dressing up as older people is harmless fun, right? No, it’s ageist, whatever Bluey says

Have you ever had a patient decline to use a gait aid because they didn’t want to look ‘old’? Or someone stop doing something because of their ‘age’.  We might not be thinking about it, but age based stereotypes may be contributing to some of the health issues that we see in older people.  In this piece for The Conversation, I discuss how kids playing dress ups may be harmful to the health of current and future older people.
