Co‑curricular Expo: a showcase of oppportunity
Our Co‑curricular Expo on 30 January was a tremendous success. More than 40 clubs transformed Dom’s Plot into a vibrant hub of curiosity and excitement. Students explored opportunities ranging from creative arts to academic enrichment, supported by our dedicated teachers who bring these programs to life.




Saturday sport takes off
Term 1 Saturday Sport has launched with outstanding participation across the College. This season we are proudly facilitating:
- two IGSA Water Polo teams – 19 players
- seven IGSA Touch Football teams – 81 players
- 10 IGSA Tennis teams – 45 players
- seven IPSHA Girls Football teams (Years 3–6) – 57 players
- one IPSHA Boys Basketball team (Years 3–4) – 8 players
- Invitational Volleyball – 18 teams, 178 players.
Santa Sabina is also hosting the Invitational Volleyball Competition, which is expected to welcome more than 130 teams, including our own.
Carnivals, clubs and competition
On Friday 20 February, members of our Swimming Team represented the College at the MLC Invitational Carnival, competing with spirit and determination against Danebank, SCEGGS Darlinghurst, MLC, Wenona and St Scholastica’s.
Across our broader Co‑curricular program, 135 students have already enrolled in activities including Swim Club, Boxing, Athletics, Fencing, Badminton Skills, Mandarin, Strength and Conditioning and Fit Club. It is inspiring to see such diverse engagement.
Representative Sport: a season of promise
Interest in our representative programs continues to grow:
- 96 students have registered for Representative Volleyball trials beginning Monday 14 February.
- 165 students have auditioned for our Dance Representative program, with Ms Watkins currently finalising teams for what promises to be an exciting season.
- Netball trials commenced last week, with teams soon to be selected for IWNA competitions and College Representative pathways.
2026 Swimming Carnival – important information
Our annual Santa Sabina College Swimming Carnival will be held on:
Date: Thursday 19 February 2026
Venue: Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC)
Attendance: Compulsory for all students in Years 3–12
Transport
- Years 3–6 will travel by bus, departing Carrington Road at 8:45am.
- Students competing in the 200 IM Medley must make their own way, with supervision available from 8:30am.
- Primary students may travel with older siblings (please indicate this on the Travel Form).

Departure
- Years 3–6 will return to the College by bus for normal dismissal.
- Parents may collect their child from the venue at 2:30pm or nominate for them to travel home with an older sibling.
- Primary students will be dismissed outside the centre by their teachers. Parents are not permitted to cross the bridge to collect students.
Program & uniform
- The Carnival Program will be available on Veritas Online and the College App.
- Students must wear full College Sports uniform to and from the venue, and their College swimming costume during events.
- House‑coloured accessories may be worn during the carnival.
What to bring
- Swimming cap (compulsory)
- College swimming costume
- Towel
- Goggles
- Underwear
- Plastic bag
- Packed lunch and water bottle
- Clearly labelled belongings
Please note: There is no canteen access. Students must bring all food and drinks for the day.
Spectators
- Parents must sit in the Western Grandstand.
- Students must remain with their teachers at all times.
- Parents are not permitted to deliver food to students.

Non‑championship swimmers can enjoy 25m novelty races throughout the day.
We look forward to celebrating the talent, teamwork and spirit of our students at the 2026 Carnival.
