FROM THE ACTING DIRECTOR OF STUDENTS

As we come to the end of another vibrant and memorable year at St Patrick’s College Townsville, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the wonderful young women who bring energy, curiosity, and spirit to our community each day. Our students have worked incredibly hard this year, completing assessment, navigating challenges, celebrating achievements, and contributing to the life of the College in so many positive and meaningful ways.

To our Year 12 students, thank you for the wonderful memories you leave with us. As your time as students at St Patrick’s College Townsville comes to an end, you depart with courage, dignity, and compassion. We wish you every success and blessing as you take your next steps into the world. For all returning students, the holiday break is a much-needed opportunity to relax, reset, and recharge. I encourage you all to spend time with your families, reconnect with friends, enjoy your hobbies and interests, and create space to rest.

A gentle reminder to families that from 10 December 2025, social media accounts in Australia will be restricted to users aged 16 and over. Our College Policies will reflect these changes, and we encourage families to work together over the holiday break to understand the updates and ensure students are supported through the transition. We recognise that many young people may have mixed feelings about this change, as social media has been an important way of staying connected. To support students and families, a list of resources that may be helpful as you navigate this transition have been included here:

In closing, a huge thank you to all our students for the laughter, joy, and inspiration you bring. Thank you also to our wonderful families for your support and partnership throughout the year. I wish each of you a peaceful, enjoyable, and restorative break. May you find rest, joy, connection, and time to breathe. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2026 for another year of growth, learning, and community.

Merry Christmas and a happy, hopeful New Year ahead.
