2025 END OF TERM 4 - 5 December 2025
FROM THE COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

FROM THE COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

Over the course of the last few weeks there has been much to celebrate: the Valedictory and Graduation of our Year 12 students, the onboarding of our incoming Year 7 students, the recent participation of our Boarders in fundraising initiatives for Australian Catholic Youth Ministries, and the recent Performing Arts Night showcasing the tremendous talents of our students in Dance and Drama. As we reach the end of Term 4 and prepare to close the year, I recognise all the students, parents and staff whose collective involvement have made this year the remarkable success that it has been. I particularly acknowledge the recent work of our Performing Arts staff including Head of Department – Dramatic Arts, Dance & Performance, Ms Jojo Butler, and teachers Ms Rosie Maguire, Ms Sherri-Lee Hudson, Ms Carla Weijers, as well as Head of Faculty – Music & Performance, Mr John Goulter. I also acknowledge the role played by our 2026 Performing Arts Prefects, Poppy Lea-Rowell and Millie Weekers, who acted as masters of ceremony for the evening.

I also wish to acknowledge the commitment of our Year 7–11 students during the recent assessment period, and thank them for their continued engagement not only in the College’s learning program, but in its broad extracurricular offerings. As the year draws to a close, it is timely that students reflect on 2025 triumphs, as well as areas for growth. This will be an important process with the release of reports, and guide the setting of goals for 2026.

I wish all of our students and their families a wonderful holiday. As we enter the Christmas season, our challenge will be to remind ourselves that Christmas is a time to be spent with family, giving thanks, finding peace and celebrating renewal. It is a time for hope, generosity and togetherness. I thank all who’ve made 2025 another fabulous year.

FROM THE ACTING DIRECTOR OF STUDENTS

FROM THE ACTING DIRECTOR OF STUDENTS

As we come to the end of another vibrant and memorable year at St Patrick’s College Townsville, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the wonderful young women who bring energy, curiosity, and spirit to our community each day. Our students have worked incredibly hard this year, completing assessment, navigating challenges, celebrating achievements, and contributing to the life of the College in so many positive and meaningful ways.

To our Year 12 students, thank you for the wonderful memories you leave with us. As your time as students at St Patrick’s College Townsville comes to an end, you depart with courage, dignity, and compassion. We wish you every success and blessing as you take your next steps into the world. For all returning students, the holiday break is a much-needed opportunity to relax, reset, and recharge. I encourage you all to spend time with your families, reconnect with friends, enjoy your hobbies and interests, and create space to rest.

A gentle reminder to families that from 10 December 2025, social media accounts in Australia will be restricted to users aged 16 and over. Our College Policies will reflect these changes, and we encourage families to work together over the holiday break to understand the updates and ensure students are supported through the transition. We recognise that many young people may have mixed feelings about this change, as social media has been an important way of staying connected. To support students and families, a list of resources that may be helpful as you navigate this transition have been included here:

In closing, a huge thank you to all our students for the laughter, joy, and inspiration you bring. Thank you also to our wonderful families for your support and partnership throughout the year. I wish each of you a peaceful, enjoyable, and restorative break. May you find rest, joy, connection, and time to breathe. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2026 for another year of growth, learning, and community.

Merry Christmas and a happy, hopeful New Year ahead.

IMPROVED SCHOOL FEE PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR SPCT FAMILIES

IMPROVED SCHOOL FEE PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR SPCT FAMILIES

St Patrick’s College Townsville is always on the lookout to improve services for our families. We recognise that for many of our families, school fees can represent a significant portion of the family budget and many of our families would welcome greater flexibility around the management of these payments.

We are therefore pleased to announce that St Patrick’s College Townsville has partnered with specialist provider, Edstart, to make managing your school fee payments easier. Edstart offers an easy, flexible, and zero-cost way for you to pay your school fees in periodic instalments that suit your family budget, with no credit checks. This new payment method will allow you to spread your fees into weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments over the full year, with the ability to choose your preferred day for when payments are made.

With your child’s outcomes at the heart of what we do, parent fees are crucial to the school’s sustainability. While we put our resources into striving to deliver the very best education and environment for our students, the team at Edstart are experts in their field and are best placed to assist our families with flexible fee payment options moving forward. From 2026, we are pleased to share that all instalment payments will be made via Edstart. We are always here to help with any questions and will work closely with Edstart for a smooth transition.

All families wishing to pay their school fees in instalments in 2026 will be required to create an Edstart Plus account before 16 January 2026 to ensure a smooth transition. All families will receive an email with a link to set up their Edstart account in the coming days.

For further information please find below a brief overview of Edstart Plus. You can contact Edstart on 1300 139 445 or email contact@edstart.com.au if you have any queries.

PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE

PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE

The College’s annual Performing Arts Night offered a glimpse into the rich learning that happens within our Performing Arts curriculum. These student-created works highlighted not only our girls’ developing skills, but also their courage, imagination, and voice.

Through devising, choreography, and collaborative rehearsals, students strengthen essential capacities such as teamwork, adaptability, resilience, problem-solving, and thoughtful self-reflection. By championing their creative ideas and processes, we celebrate the confidence and artistry that the Arts inspire.

We thank you for supporting our girls as they shared what they have learnt and who they are becoming. This evening was a powerful reminder of how vital art, expression, and creativity are in shaping a brighter, more compassionate world.
