OUR RED DOOR
A small change with a big meaning. Our new red door at the Boarding House is a symbol of welcome and compassion, inspired by Catherine McAuley’s original House of Mercy on Baggot Street.
At a time when opening doors to the poor and vulnerable in an affluent neighbourhood was considered bold and unsettling, Catherine’s open door was a quiet act of defiance and radical hospitality. From this courageous beginning grew a ministry of care and service that has touched hearts and communities across generations.
