Chaplains’ Chat

Chaplains’ Chat

We all have favourite things that we love to do and eat, such as watching the cricket after eating Christmas leftovers, visiting the beach on a hot summer’s day, or going out with our favourite people. As the students return to School for another year of learning, this Term in Chapel, we will be hearing from different staff about their favourite Bible verses, what they teach us about God and how these verses encourage and comfort us in everyday life.

The Apostle Paul, writing to his younger protégé in his second letter to Timothy, reminds him that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” These verses demonstrate the educational heart of God, that like a schoolmaster, He both instructs and disciplines for the growth and maturity of His children. Why? So that we might be equipped for every good work. It is our desire that the young men of Shore would be thoroughly equipped with the character and conviction to strive for the good of others and multiply the good in society. May this new school year be a time of great learning, friendships and maturity as we strive for excellence in all that we do.
