Years K – 6 Athletics Carnival 2025

The K–6 Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday 13 June at ES Marks Athletics Field, located on the corner of Boronia Street and Anzac Parade, Kensington.

On the day, all students should arrive at school at the usual time and will travel to the venue by coach with their teachers. Girls are to wear their full PE uniform, including hats. They may add House colours to their outfit—for example, a T-shirt, socks, ribbons, or a decorated hat in House colours.

Students travelling to and from school on public transport must wear full PE uniform. House colour decorations can be added upon arrival at school and should be removed before leaving in the afternoon.

Years 3–6 will depart SCEGGS by 8.30am, with events starting at approximately 9.00am. Students returning to school by bus will arrive back by 3.00pm, in time for regular carline pickup or After School activities.

Kindergarten to Year 2 will attend their usual morning classes and depart SCEGGS by 10.30am. Their events will begin at approximately 11.30am. They will return to school by 2.45pm, in time for carline pickup or After School activities.

All sporting co-curricular activities will run as usual, and After School Care will be available.

Years K-2 Events

K-2 students will be involved in a range of fun track races on the carnival day.

These will be listed in the program, available to parents closer to the carnival date.

Things to Bring

All girls must bring the following items to the Athletics Carnival:

• Sunscreen
• School hat (bucket hat or sports cap)
• School fleece, uniform cardigan or jumper
• Recess, lunch, snacks, and drinks

Girls may also choose to wear their School tracksuit for added warmth and comfort.

There are no canteen facilities available at the venue, and the field does not permit schools to set up refreshment stalls. Parents attending the carnival are kindly asked to bring their own refreshments.

Transport & Permission

All students are to arrive at school at the usual time and will travel by hired coach from SCEGGS to ES Marks Athletics Field.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 may be signed out and leave the venue with a parent or authorised adult at the conclusion of the carnival.

If your daughter will not be returning to school by bus, please provide written permission to her class teacher prior to the day. On the day of the carnival, girls must be personally signed out with the class teacher before leaving.

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, the carnival may be cancelled, and a normal school day will take place instead.

A final decision will be made by 8.00am and communicated via Clipboard and the SCEGGS App.
