Public Speaking at SCEGGS

Term 2 has been an outstanding term for SCEGGS Public Speaking. This Saturday 22 June Jessica Gallie (Year 9) will compete in the state final of the Rostrum Voice of Youth at Sydney Grammar, not Shore as previously stated. Jessica is one of the six who have made it through from over 400 students in the first round. Anyone who would like to support Jessica is welcome to attend but students must be accompanied by an adult.

 The details are:

Date:   Saturday 22 June
Time:   1.30 – 5.45pm
Venue:

Sydney Grammar School
Alastair Mackerras Theatre
Stanley Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Celia Watson (Year 11) competed in the third round, the semi-final, of the Plain English Speaking Award last Friday. Hundreds of students competed in round one and Celia was one of just 23 students competing for a place in the final. Unfortunately she wasn’t successful but did deliver two powerful speeches.

Congratulations to both our girls for their outstanding achievements and good luck Jessica.
