Public Speaking

The regional finals of Rostrum Voice of youth were held at the Eastern Suburbs Leagues Club on Monday May 23.

Year 9 students Cissy Watson and Sadie Juneja represented SCEGGS in the Junior Division and Sybilla Hooke in Year 10 in the Seniors.

Each girl spoke with passion and entertained a responsive audience on topics ranging from changing the face of politics (very current!) to youth activism. They met the challenge of the impromptu section, speaking confidently on the topics “You can’t say that” and “At the end of the tunnel”.

While the girls did not progress to the State Final, they can be very proud of their achievement in reaching this stage of the competition.
