Super 10s Tennis State of Origin
Congratulations to Emilia Laban (Year 5) who was selected to play for NSW in the NSW vs Queensland Super 10s Tennis State of Origin competition at Sawtell last weekend. Emilia had a great time representing NSW and competed in singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions. She came away with a convincing win in her singles match against her Queensland opposite number (6-1,6-2) and won her mixed doubles match. Queensland just got the win overall this year, but it was an excellent experience for Emilia. What a fantastic effort!
Gymnastics
It was a big weekend of Gymnastics for many of our students who competed at Ascham and Glebe PCYC in preparation for the upcoming IPSHA Gymnastics competition. There were some excellent results, and it was lovely to see three Year 1 students attending their first competition, doing so well, and enjoying the experience. Special mention also goes to Victoria Poniros (Year 6) who competed in the Level 5 competition for the first time and won the Vault. Amelia Mitchell (Year 6) also won the Handstand competition across three schools. Congratulations to the team led by Head Gymnastics Coach Glen Hay.

Year 3 Minkey and IPSHA AFL and Touch Football
It is hard to believe that Year 3 Minkey and IPSHA AFL and Touch Football competitions have only one more round to play. It has been great seeing the improvements made across each of the teams in their respective sports.
On Saturday, the Year 4 teams led the charge in IPSHA Touch, coming away with two wins. The Year 5 team played without reserves against a full strength Kambala team in warm conditions. The team showed excellent perseverance and kept competing until the final whistle, including a diving effort from Josephine Smith (Year 5) to finish the game which will go down as a one of the highlights of the season!
Upcoming Dates:
Saturday 14 September | Final Round of Year 3 Minkey competition at Ascham (Week 8) |
Saturday 14 September | Final Round of IPSHA AFL and Touch Round 5 (Week 8) |
Tuesday 17 September | IPSHA Basketball and Year 3 Football Trials commence (Week 9) |
A reminder, if your daughter cannot attend a Saturday match due to another commitment, you must contact Mrs Dempsey to request permission for leave. This request must be made at least one week prior to the date being requested.
