Round 4 of the IPSHA Netball competition took place on Saturday 25 May at Moore Park and Ravenswood. The SCEGGS teams were in fine form, coming away with six wins and two losses. The 6A team battled it out against Ascham in what was a fast-paced game, taking the win 8-7. The 6B team had one of their best performances of the season, winning convincingly against Kambala. The 5A team narrowly lost against PLC Sydney, and the 5B team were too strong for Meriden, coming away with an 8-0 win. The Year 4 teams came away with two wins, and special mention to the 4B team, who won 5-3 against Kambala, despite playing with no reserves.

Each week there is a training focus for the Netball teams, and this week timing and spatial awareness were the focus at training. It is great to see the improvements the girls are making each week.

Meet some of the IPSHA Netball coaches. We have some new faces:

IPSHA Minkey/Hockey took place across various venues in Sydney, and all teams performed well, despite being low on numbers. Special mention to Luca Tuigamala (Year 4) who filled in for the combined Year 4/5 team, helping the team come away with a 5-1 win against Loreto. The team continues their excellent form with three straight wins.

Student Achievements:

Shoutout this week goes to Emily Snow (Year 5). From May 20 – 21 May, Emily competed in a two-day carnival in Albury, representing the Metro East AFL team for the Under 12s All Schools. She came up against girls much taller than her, however that didn’t deter her from playing with a lot of courage and ‘shining her light’. Emily not only did an amazing job on the field but made some strong friendships with her teammates, and described the experience as one of the best she has been a part of. What an amazing experience and achievement. Congratulations Emily!
