Family orchestra concert
The Metropolitan Orchestra will perform an exciting concert for children of all ages and their families on Saturday 21 June. This orchestral concert will open with Copland’s iconic Fanfare for the Common Man, a stirring tribute to strength and resilience, followed by Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra which showcases the virtuosity of each instrument in a dazzling display of orchestral colour. The Metropolitan Orchestra will take the audience on an incredible intergalactic musical journey through the seven movements of Gustav Holst’s incredible “The Planets”. This wonderful concert featuring a large orchestra will appeal to all family members, and all music lovers from those seasoned orchestral followers through to anyone who is new to a live orchestra. Come along and you will not only get to learn about the instruments of the orchestra, but experience one of the true masterpieces of orchestral performance. Attending concerts is a wonderful way to inspire young musicians.
